Infertility Caused By The Environment

Infertility Caused By The Environment

Curiously, 'The Handmaid's Tale', was recommended to me recently.  I will now relish reading it.

In the Emmy Award-winning new series The Handmaid’s Tale, a chilling new picture of a dystopian society emerges. Environmental contaminants are causing decreased sperm production among men, couples having difficulty conceiving and children being born with numerous health concerns.  When I first read Margaret Atwood’s book The Handmaid’s Tale in the 80’s, I thought it was a science fiction novel. Never did I imagine that it was a plausible vision of the future.

The troubling reality is that we are seeing a huge increase in both chronic disease (over 50% of adults have at least one) and reproductive health issues.  The primary force behind the increase in chronic diseases has been unmasked.  The sheer amount of toxins overwhelming our body’s own detoxification systems, while simultaneously dysregulating the immune and endocrine system, is making us all sick. The CDC reports that over 100 toxic chemicals and metals out of the 212 that were measured (which is but a small fraction of the thousands of chemicals humans are exposed to daily) are present in the average U.S. resident.[i] This load is a prime causative factor for the majority of the epidemic of chronic diseases in the U.S. and must be addressed.  Studies have shown that even our babies are being born pre-polluted. Heavy metals like lead and mercury, flame retardants, pesticides, herbicides, Bisphenol A and phthalates have been found in their cord blood, amniotic fluid, and breastmilk.[ii],[iii],[iv]
Major medical associations are becoming aware of this problem. FIGO, the international Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics representing 125 different countries reports that:

Preventing Dangerous Nutritional Deficiencies

Preventing Dangerous Nutritional Deficiencies

This article is worth a good look at.  Many ailments can be prevented or healed with the right nutrients.

Nutrient deficiencies can cause countless ailments and diseases.  However, eating the proper foods and supplementing certain nutrients can reverse poor health and reduce your risk of illness.

The cost of health care is skyrocketing.  A recent news report indicated that the premiums for “Obamacare” (The Affordable Health Care Act) health insurance will likely increase by 25% in 2017.1 The current president will likely respond to this announcement with claims that Obamacare should be abolished, or that pharmaceutical companies are taking too much profit.  There are many reasons why healthcare costs have risen so much, but it is unlikely that the real cause of this healthcare crisis will be part of this political discussion.

The real reason for these high costs is the state of health of Americans.  In the past 60 years, the percentage of the population suffering from a chronic disease has risen from 10% to over 60%.2 A British economist has estimated that 100% of the GNP of the United States will be consumed by the cost of health care by the year 2065.3  And the number one cause of this astronomical increase in the cost of health care, according to every knowledgeable health expert, is nutritional deficiencies.4

Junk Food And Antibiotics - The Dangers To Our Health

This article requires serious consideration.  The consumption of junk food has taken it's toll on health around the world.  It is totally alarming to think that humanity destroys itself through eating.  But not only that, too many antibiotics have been dished out by doctors so that the body is no longer responding to their healting powers.  I wonder what comes next?

  • Recent studies show that one-half of all Americans are either prediabetic or diabetic. In the UK, diabetes rates have soared 60 percent in the last decade
  • Diabetic women under the age of 45 have a six-fold greater risk for heart attack, recent research shows
  • Guidance on diabetes testing, and lifestyle changes to prevent and/or reverse type 2 diabetes are included

Reduce Your Sugar Intake

Sugar is causing a lot of health problems.  Now we know more about it's dangers we can reduce it's intake to a more healthy level.

Added sugar, and processed fructose in particular, is a primary driver of the metabolic dysfunction underlying obesity, diabetes, and heart disease

To prevent chronic disease such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer, WHO suggests limiting your added sugar consumption to a maximum of five percent of your daily calories

Studies have shown that those who consume 25 percent or more of their daily calories as sugar are twice as likely to die from heart disease as those who get less than 7-10 percent of their calories from sugar
