The 5 Worst Foods For Joint Pain

https://dailyhealthpost.com/arthritis-foods/

by DailyHealthPost

Managing arthritis can be a full-time job.
There are certain activities and medication to be avoided to keep pain levels low, but there are also a number of foods that affect your joints and tissue.
These are the worst FIVE foods to avoid for arthritis causing unnecessary pain.

Here Are The 5 Worst Foods To Avoid For Arthritis

1. ANYTHING with Gluten

Sorry, my carb-loving friends, but you may have to say goodbye to traditional pastas and breads.
Aside from the fact that these foods pack a ton of carbohydrates, gluten can cause an incredible amount of inflammation.

Not everyone will have adverse reactions to gluten: current estimates[1] say that around 13% of the population has some form of non-celiac gluten sensitivity, and around 1% of the population has full-blown celiac disease.

Unfortunately, around 40% of the population is a carrier for the gene that causes celiac diseaseEnvironmental factors that could trigger the gene to ‘turn on’ range from pregnancy, illness, menopause, antibiotic use, prolonged use of ibuprofen, gastrointestinal infections to a simple stomach flu.[2]  If you have arthritis, it’s really best (and healthier for your waistline) not to chance it.

When Gluten Can Make You Crazy

When Gluten Can Make You Crazy

Here is an interesting case study about the effect of Gluten in the diet.  It makes me wonder how many people are diagnosed with mental disorders that could easily be solved by leaving out Gluten.

After all, we hear so much about mental disorders that are said to be related to  stress and maybe, just maybe, the cause could be found elsewhere in the diet for instance.

How Gluten and Modern Food Processing Contribute to Poor Health

Wheat And How It Ravages Your Gut

More and more, we are learning about the effect of wheat on our health.  Dr. Mercola's articles and videos are of great help in giving us information about the various factors.

  • Gluten is a protein made up of glutenin and gliadin molecules, which in the presence of water form an elastic bond. Gluten is found primarily in wheat, rye and barley, but other grains may contain it as well
  • For those with celiac disease, a severe gastrointestinal reaction to gluten, a gluten-free diet is vital. But many have some level of gluten intolerance or sensitivity, and fare better on a gluten-free diet as well
  • Besides gluten, other factors contributing to the rise in gluten intolerance and similar symptoms include wheat hybridization for higher gluten content, other wheat components, the milling or baking process and glyphosate contamination
