How To Propagate African Violets
African violets – botanically Saintpaulias – are easy plants to propagate. Their care is pretty easy and they propagate readily through division or leaf cuttings. However, propagation by leaf cuttings is probably the most popular.
For leaf cuttings, choose a middle-sized leaf, cut it with about an inch of leaf stem (called the petiole). Make sure to watch the below video.
I wish I had known this years ago as I had a beautiful African Violet that lasted for years but then for some reason disintegrated. I could have grown more such plants from it.

Propagating From Leaf Cuttings
The two most practical methods for rooting divisions or leaf cuttings is by placing them in either soil or water as both methods are practical.
