The Importance of Exericse

Summer is a good time to get some exercise.   Give yourself the gift of movement in the fresh air and move towards a healthy body.

  • By prompting release of biochemicals in your body and brain, exercise affects your body’s circadian rhythms, especially those related to activity
  • Regular exercise is as important for longevity as quitting smoking. Older men who got 30 minutes of exercise six days a week reduced their risk of death by about 40 percent, compared to non-exercisers
  • Other research shows exercising at moderate intensity for 450 minutes per week (just over an hour a day) provides the greatest amount of benefit in terms of longevity
