Causes of Depression

Much research is happening about Depression which appears to affect so many people.  Here are some possible causes which I hope will she some light on this debilitating Condition.

Depression

  • Chronic inflammation appears to be a significant underlying factor causing symptoms of depression, and keeping inflammation in check is an important part of an effective treatment plan
  • Vitamin D deficiency and/or unbalanced gut flora have also been identified as significant contributing factors to depression
  • Researchers have identified a biomarker in the brain that can be used to predict whether a depressed patient is a good candidate for medication, or might be better off with psychotherapy
