Female Brain

Is the female brain smaller?  Well, according to a study by the University of California, it would appear so, but, not less efficient than the male brain.

Ladies, rejoice!  In all the inequalities that we experience against the male environment, and they really exist to this day, a study has now proven that the female brain is more efficient albeit smaller than the male brain.

This recent study found that the female brain uses less energy and fewer brain cells than the male brain but achieves the same and even better results.  The bundles of neurons in the male brain which give them their reasoning factor are more numerous but it was found that women's brains had more connections between them the neurons.

Neuroscientists at the University of California did a study of both men's and women's brains and focussed on the part of the brain responsible for memory and emotions, i.e. the hippocampus.  The bigger hippocampus and more numerous neurons in men related to a higher level of intelligence in the men but a larger hippocampus was no indication of greater intelligence in men than in women.  In fact, the study revealed that the smaller hippocampus in women could even be better.

The paper on this study which was published in the Journal of Intelligence indicated that females might show greater efficiency requiring less neural material for achieving the same intelligent results as males.
