Online Life Coaching Training

Training to Become a Life Coach

Having deliberated for many months in 2013 whether I should take a course in Life Coaching, I finally took the plunge and enrolled on an OnlineLife Coaching Course.  I could not have foreseen how this course was to change my life for the better.  The desire had been there for a long time as I was involved in Charity work and could see how good it was to be able to help the Community.  I believed that I was a good listener as friends and family often come to me with concerns.
The Internet enables us to train for a career without so much as attending a lecture or lesson in person.  Every Module is taught by Webcast or over Skype or by using the telephone.
The qualities required are good listening skills, a great desire and intention to see a client succeed in whatever it is that they want to achieve and the processes recommended which lead you to see the positive in every situation can only enhance your own life if you employ them yourself.
One of the most beneficial aspects of the year-long training was the Pod Group.  This is like a Mastermind group.  This Pod Group consist of a small number of fellow students who meet via Skype every month to discuss successes and who share any concerns they may have and offer suggestions how best to mentor clients in various situations in their coaching, but more on that later.
Coaching clients and friends is encouraged pretty much from day one.  Best of all is the confidence you gain from coaching and helping others succeed.
It took me a while to feel ready to coach my Pod Group members because fear was holding me back, but once I started I could see just how smooth the way into the coaching was.
In addition, ten coaching sessions have to be recorded to by assessed by different   Mentors.  However, before sending these recorded coaching sessions to the Mentor, the student is required to analyse these sessions and write down where improvements could be made.  This enables the student to explore a different way of asking questions and so learn and think about what could be improved.
The idea behind Life Coaching is to ask questions and get the client to engage in thinking about solutions.  Once aware of and speaking about an issue, this often brings up possible solutions and ways of looking at the topic in several different ways by the client himself.   Very often, the answer to the subject lies within the client and this is the job of the Life Coach to help the client towards finding these answers.
Life Coaching is also about re-programming your brain to think of possible ways that successes can be achieved and to remove fear that is holding many people back from achieving their dream life.  Many of us have been subjected to negative programming during our formative years and it is this belief system that is being changed by questioning how accurate this negative input is and how it could be reversed.
The food for thought that is conveyed once a week for the first three weeks of every month by a Mentor and the shift to a positive life are beneficial beyond measure.   Then there are eight assignments to complete in which several real life scenarios are presented and the student has to give his version of how best to advise a client to move forward.
Such a course deals with every area of life, be it relationships, lifestyle, family, work, leisure pursuits and you can raise the level of satisfaction through this awareness.
Even today, eight months after completing the OnlineLife Coaching Training, I feel that I am benefitting from the insights gained on a daily basis and the Pod Group has meant that we have formed life-long friendships without ever even meeting in person albeit, I was delighted to meet one member and we were as comfortable with each other as we had been online during the course.  The reason for this is that people who are interested in Life Coaching have the same goal in mind, to help clients and friends to a achieving a happier, better life.
